Minor Bhojpur girl gang-raped at Bihta

PATNA: A minor girl was gang-raped in broad daylight by four persons at Bihta in Patna district on Thursday. Her medical examination confirmed rape on her. One person has been arrested.
Sources said the four spotted the victim in a compromising position with her boyfriend near Dumri Road at Bihta and raped her to ‘teach her a lesson’. A woman, who was cutting wood nearby, heard the victim screaming when she was being assaulted.She called the police.
Patna SSP Jitender Rana said Deepak, an auto-driver, has been arrested and was being interrogated. He said Deepak has revealed the whereabouts of the absconding accused and the police were conducting simultaneous raids to nab them. Rana, however, ruled out the involvement of the victim’s boyfriend in the crime and said the police had already interrogated him in this connection.
Sources said the minor and her boyfriend belong to Bhojpur district of the state. They knew each other for quite some time. The girl came to Bihta to meet her relatives who stay there. Invited by the girl, Kaju came to Bihta and took her to a lonely place to spend sometime with her. The victim was sent to her relatives after her statement was recorded with the Bihta police after her medical examination.
